The Hamnavoe Set is a collection of work inspired by holidays spent in Stromness on the island of Orkney and also a contemplation on the work of George Mackay Brown.

George Mackay Brown was a poet, novelist and dramatist who was rooted in his Stromness community. His observations of local characters and daily life resonate throughout his work.

‘Hamnavoe’ was the old name for Stromness and also the title of one his most famous poems.
